So it has finally happened. I can finally croak Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" with much gusto, 'cept that its more like "8 to midnight??" in my case.
Well, its been a rad start to the new year. New job, new friends, new wardrobe, new car :))
A little dewy-eyed over 2004...it was a lovely year...and most of the bouquets for that go to Veka and Roshers. Gawddd...I miss u guys heaps!
Work in a Big 4 Accounting firm is hectic, and I am constantly imbibed with a healthy dose of professional scepticism. Its really the nature of the job, where us assurance people (also known as auditors), go in and basically ensure that an entity's financial statements represent a true and fair view. Its a big responsibility and firms like Pricewaterhousecoopers don't fail to let us forget that.
Just after a few short weeks, I find myself growing and learning at such an accelerated pace...there is just SO much to learn. The wealth of knowledge is extensive and I'm amazed by the depository of information available to professionals in this line. Its an excellent organisation...work is bloody stressful and demanding, and its solely performance oriented but nobody here is a geek. Well, geek in the truest sense that is. They are chartered accountants, but they actually have a life. We have divers, extreme sports-people, cellists and all the like amongst us. Kinda makes me wonder why they hired ordinary folk (like me) ...hehe..
Anyway, its been a long week. And its time to go back to the old drawing board...
